Although (semi-) retired, we feel we've been even busier in 2017 - maybe because the year seemed shorter than ever (?) - but we produced a bountiful harvest from our now-Muntjac-proofed allotment (click image!).
Our gorgeous grandchildren, Alex and Grace, with Rebecca and William are very active in Leeds - at school, gymnastics, local football team, Parish Council and planning work. Tom was challenged to shave his head for Macmillan Cancer Support. He is still working in Rugby but visiting Cheltenham whenever possible. Maria volunteers locally with several groups and nurtures her elderly dog Sapphie. Annabel is fully retired, baking 'real bread' and learning Italian among other activities. Patrick is winding down a bit but now has an honorary fellowship at Coventry University's Centre for Agroecology, Water and Resilience...
We made a number of visits to and from friends and the family in Leeds, and other trips around the country and abroad. This included returning to Waterloo Meadows on the banks of the Kennet and Avon canal in Katesgrove, Reading which, with friends and local residents 37 years ago, we helped to rescue from industrial development and turn the space into a children's play area and public park.
We hope to visit more friends in 2018 - and you're welcome here any time.
With all our love and best wishes for 2018
Annabel and Patrick
